Picnic in the Park meetups are free and are a great opportunity to meet other T1d friends or keep in touch during summer. Please remember to bring food, water, and sunscreen. There is no need to register ahead of time. Simply show up and hang out with other T1d families!

Annual Fashion Show Gala: Now in its 31st year, this spectacular gala is our largest psychosocial event and our major fundraiser for our education and support programs. A highlight is a runway show with fashions complements of Macy's featuring children and teens living with Type 1 diabetes, along with professional models. Other features include a silent auction and dinner. Help us keep childhood special for the children of PADRE. We ask that you partner with us to be a vital part in the success of our mission.
Catalina Island Adventure Camp: This weekend is designed for youth 10-15 years of age who are living with Type 1 diabetes and their friends. It is a getaway filled with team-building challenges, marine activities, diabetes education and a variety of opportunities for personal growth. Long Beach Marine Institute and its staff host the nature activities, and a medical team monitors the campers' diabetes control throughout the weekend. Turf and Surf Golf Tournament: Every July, PADRE supporters arrive at SeaCliff Country Club in Huntington Beach for a day of golf including lunch, raffles, and an awards during dinner.
Angels Family Night: At our Angles family night, PADRE families get together for tailgating under the big "A" before heading into our section of the stadium to enjoy watching an Angels baseball game.
Harvest Carnival: This event has the reputation of being an incredible day for the whole family. Costumes, games, crafts, face painting are among the many highlights of our fall festival. The event provides a wonderful environment, carefree day takes the focus off of candy, which can be a temptation during this time of the year, and demonstrates to young diabetic children that they are not alone.
Riding the Wave of Diabetes Workshop: Receiving the diagnosis of diabetes releases a flood of emotions. Come learn how children with diabetes and their parents are Turning Stumbling Blocks into Stepping Stones!
Annual Holiday Party: This seasonal affair brings together families who have lived with diabetes for years and those who are conquering their first difficult year. The event includes community bonding, crafts, bowling, food and a visit from Santa.
Posada Event: Here, we host a Christmas celebration in the Spanish tradition for those living with Type 1 diabetes. Join us for wonderful food, music and company.
Snowy Nights: This is a themed dressed evening of dinner, dancing and socializing for teenagers 13-18 who are living with Type 1 diabetes and their friends.
Family Winter Camp: The PADRE Foundation and Diabetes Camping and Educational Services, Inc. collaborate to hold a Family Winter Camp each January. Families enjoy organized activities, discussions regarding diabetes, guest speakers, snow sledding and a chance to get to know others living with Type 1 diabetes.
