To help school health personnel become further updated about Type 1 diabetes and its impact on children during school hours, the Pediatric-Adolescent Diabetes Research and Education (PADRE) Foundation and CHOC Children's Hospital Diabetes Team will host the PADRE School Nurse Training at 7 a.m. on May 22nd at the Mary & Dick Allen Diabetes Center in Newport Beach.
The PADRE Foundation School Nurse Training is open to all school nurses, health-care workers, and office aids to provide them with current information on Type 1 diabetes and how they can help support school children who have the complex chronic disease.
In conjunction with the CHOC Children’s Diabetes Team, the PADRE Foundation will be offering the workshop to provide updated forms of care, new technology and solutions to challenges that may be encountered by students with Type 1 Diabetes. The cost of the training is FREE and nurses, health-care providers and health aids can register online by following the link below:
